The Greatest Darkness I knew…

The greatest darkness I knew was my own

Till I met you

Till in your eyes I saw a reflection of the contradiction that was myself

Till I saw in your soul the very blackness that reflected my own

Till I knew I was not in this pool of liquorice for nothing

Undulating, moving, forming and re-shaping

That which was familiar was what was most similar

Your greatest horror, your greatest shame

Was always mine, it bears my name

Your sinister darkness, your heartless game

For a time fooled others, till along I came

Ah what folly when fools meet their quarry

Ah what torment when together we lament

When souls mate it uplifts their gait

When soulmates mate it breaks down all gates

Your pain is mine and I your agony

For you tis sacrilege, a criminal felony

Your battle is within, between your hurt and heart

Your past transgression with a mindless tart

Be wise and choose for yourself and not hate

Your heart has decided, admit it, before it is too late
