About us
Owl Muses is a collection of eclectic expressions from life according to Lilanka Botejue. From her creative outbursts and passionate views to her love for nature, food, music and archaeology, Owl Muses is an attempt to capture these moments in time.
An English (Hons.) graduate who hated writing as a student but discovered it as an outlet for her existential frustrations as a 20 something year old, Lilanka is a Lit enthusiast who sings for her soul and enjoys music in all forms and genres. She is a founding member of Soul Sounds, Sri Lanka’s premier all female ensemble. A self declared gourmet glut, her love for food has led her to eat, experiment and dabble in the culinary arts from a very early age. She loves travelling, nature and is following a passion for History & Archaeology through a MSc in Archaeology conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya.
A former teacher of literature and singing, Lilanka believes that knowledge is the key to empowerment and change. She likes being positive in a negative world and her personal motto is “What is meant to be comes about of what one does”. Owl Muses is her way of capturing these diverse experiences and offering readers food for thought and an alternate view of the tried and tested paths of life.
