Owl Poetry & Prose

Then Christmas is for You*

Have you often felt alone in a crowd?

Stood out a mile in the midst of the throng

Have you wondered if you belong

Or felt like the broken harmony of a song?

Are you someone who finds yourself alone

Coz you don’t agree with the others, you don’t conform to the norm

Do you really have good friends out there

Or just people who know you but really don’t care

Chorus

Then let me tell you now

There’s a place for you there’s hope somehow

For there was a baby who was born who never did conform

His message of hope and love is true

If you’re alone with faith in few

Then Christmas is for you

Are you sick and tired of life

Have you questioned God given into strife

Do you wonder when the pain would end?

Have you longed for someone, a real true friend?

Chorus

Then let me tell you now

There’s a place for you there’s hope somehow

For there was a baby who was born who for the fallen sang his song

His message of hope and strength is true

If you’re fallen and feeling blue

Then Christmas is for you

I know it’s easy for me to say

Believe in Christmas, you can find a way

But remember the baby born on this day became a man who went out of his way

And his message of hope from Calvary’s slope

Was acceptance and love beyond judgment’s scope

So this is why we celebrate

The lonely, the lost the broken and maimed

If you’re down and you don’t know what to do

Then Christmas is for you

*I wrote this as a song with a vague tune in my head. I will hopefully compose it properly soon and share 🙂
