Patience

“Patience!”

My godson had retorted

to his grandfather upon being pulled up for misbehaving

Patience is a virtue, apparently

One I need to work on regularly

Patience

Is what is being tested daily by people, work, Covid

Every bloody thing

Patience is not easy , never was

My patience is being tested with the bloody bank

The bug infestation, the DVD player

My mother, who has an ocean of patience

But she tests mine

And I, I am annoyed

At the pace of my own self, the pace of my ‘progress’

Which I never seem to see

Love is patient lu, ha ha, that too is out the window

So with a turbulent & churning mind

I am attempting some patience

And it is slowly but surely

Driving me nuts…
