Just Because I Laughed…

I laughed

Because it was funny – apparently

I somehow failed to grasp the total humour in it

Yet I laughed almost automatically

Expectedly

Yet it stung, a bit

Actually quite a bit

It’s not fun to be laughed at

To be the butt end of every joke

The ‘bite’ of every so called friend

So yea, it’s what it is

My protests would fall on deaf ears and chastisement

For lacking a sense of humour

Easy to point the finger when you’re not the one at the receiving end

So just because I laughed

Does not mean it did not hurt
