Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Was at the brink of my acceptance

It was not easy

Like a snake wriggling free of its hide

I was willing to cleanse her of her sin

And yet

One line was all it took

To snatch away that semblance of graciousness

For she, the perpetual misery

Showed her true colours once more

All it took was one line without a salutation

Or a goodbye

Vile creature

Not me, her nature
