Metamorphosis – It’s Time To Shine Elsewhere

Life has been quite a learning curve these days and it’s been revealing, exhausting, empowering and scary all rolled into one. Some things have been too comfortable for too long and like a snake shedding its skin, it is now time to shed the old to allow in the new. This has been the case for me but for others it has been a case of shedding the lies to reveal the ugly truth – truly a year for snakes.

However, as life is cyclic and as the Yin wanes and allows in the Yang, one can hope that better times are en route even though the path may not always be clear. When the comfort zone gets shaken, many things shift into perspective and these revelations, for better or for worse, are essential for progress and growth. Many are the times that life reminds some of us that the comfort zone was never meant to be our solace or permanent home. Despite much protest and insistence, the instinct knows deep down that the path ahead has to be one of a greater calling.

In this light, while chatting to someone today, this person said, ‘it’s time to shine your light elsewhere’ and this rang so true. I jokingly replied, ‘yes, I have been shining my light in the Mariana trench to a bunch of translucent fish for too long’. When the tide has turned, the ship must catch the wind and ride the waves – you will never be ready but you know you will survive.

And so it is a time of metamorphosis – transitioning from a caterpillar who was snug in its cocoon into a fully fledged butterfly – bold, bright and unafraid to be. May the light guide you to greater heights and may your wings be steady as you soar. Floreat.
