The Signs of the Times

Once again, life is throwing its curve balls and when it comes to one’s loved ones and health, it is always a matter of leaving it in the hands of a higher power. It’s been almost a week and today I decided to get the garden cleared – to remove the old, the dead and the unnecessary to let in the light and reset as it were.

In the midst of the clearing, I suddenly saw a tiny Easter lily blooming. It had been covered by the other leaves which the gardener cleared saying – it needs sunlight. Yes, light will always herald growth and renaissance. And the Easter lilies have always been my signs of hope. I almost cried when I saw it – a small flower in bloom but a flower nevertheless. In November which is not its season, here was my sign. A sign of hope and light. To trust the process and trust that everything will work out.

This coupled with my calendar page that features Magnolia and Irises – symbols of longevity and hope – has cemented my faith that the light is there and there are better times ahead. I just need to trust and let go.
