If You Want to Change the World…
“If You Want to Change the World, Go Home & Love Your Family”
This is possibly one of the simplest yet profound statements made about life by Mother Theresa (controversial yes, but this statement is valid). Many want to change the world by doing great things – build great careers, companies, world peace, end poverty etc. Yet if you truly examine the essence of this statement – it is simple yet very practical. If you want better people who are content & happy, then love your family and be there for them. It will have a ripple effect across generations. Many people create wars, commit murder and steal because psychologically they have issues, trauma and are lacking in certain areas.
In this context, it is not just the mother who should do this but the fathers too. Parents need to be involved in their children’s lives. Money cannot replace that. The old model of provider for the father and caretaker for the mother does not work in today’s context. A lot more women are choosing careers (as is their right) and two income households are a norm. Therefore, both need to be involved in the process of raising their kids. And their kids in turn and society, will thank them for it.
